Do newer pick-ups with 3 across seating have an air bag for the center passenger?

I think the answer is no....

Old truck for your time.

What newer trucks have 3 across seating?

I think the passenger air bag inflates extra wide to cover the middle passenger. That being said I almost never have anyone sitting in the middle seat in the front unless it’s my dog.

Depends. It can be a front curtain style airbag that comes back from the top of the dash

My Regular cab 2017 F-150 has three across seating. That said, no one has ever sat in the middle, and I have the seat back folded down for use of the arm rest and cup holders on the back side of it.

My 2017 F-150 regular cab has three across seating if I fold the arm rest/cup holder/seat back up. There isn’t a separate airbag for the center seat, but I don’t know if the passenger side airbag is over width to cover the it. It could be. There is a full shoulder belt for the center seat.

My 2013 F150 does not.

My 2017 Silverado also has three across. Same thing here though, have never had to sit with three across.

They don’t have their own airbag, but the passenger one may possibly be wide enough to catch a middle passenger. I remember Cadillac making a big deal about that in commercials in the 90's. In the nearly dozen years I’ve had my truck, I’ve only had a person in the middle 2-3 times. Fortunately I’ve never had to test the airbags.

I’m not surprised they don’t. In my state they didn’t make wearing a seat belt in a truck mandatory until 2005. I remember talking with my gf at the time about the new law, and she asked why isn’t there a center airbag. My truck’s center seat only had a lap belt, which isn’t going to help as much as a 3 point set up. I always made her wear her seat belt with me. She would always put on the lap belt, so she could lay across the bench and sleep if she got tired.

I had a mid ‘90s Cadillac with a front bench, and the passenger side airbag was just longer to cover the center seat. I think that’s how its been done for the most part, GM’s early airbag system in the ‘70s was set up that way.
